The dam is pre-shaped to fit perfectly the bottom of the tundish. The concrete has a very high porosity level.
The mix of the concrete is set to the requested casting sequences and steel temperatures.
A pipe is incorporated in the concrete to allow argon and/or nitrogen gaz blowing.
